An application was also received from Andrew Carr, of Kaitangata, but as there was no appearance of the applicant, and insufficient evidence, no pension was granted. Two other applications from Lemora Barra and Franciso Welnoski, of Waihola, were also dealt with and refused. The first mentioned not being sufficiently long enough naturalised, and the second was not naturalised at all. "The Bruce Herald", 20 March 1900.

OLD AGE PENSIONS

Mary Whalan was granted a full pension of 18 pound per annum.
