Gregg and Stephenson v Dovoloski -Claim £2 9s 5d. Mr. Henderson from plaintiff. Defendat's wife appeared and stated that she had paid Mr. Kellie the money, and produced a receipt. A witness with an unpronounceable name corroborated the statements made by the former witness, saying that she saw Mrs. Dovoloski pay Kellie £3 11s 9d and saw Kellie hand her a receipt for the money.

Donald Kellie, sworn, said that he had never received the money, and that the hand-writing on the account was not his.

Mr. Henderson pointed out several apparent flaws in the receipt produced leading to the assumption that it was not a genuine document.

Judgement for plaintiff's for £2 9s 5d, with costs 12s professional fee 10s 6d. "The Mataura Ensign", 06 April 1883.
