RABBIT CASES.

W. Dalgliesh, Rabbit Inspector (Mr. Inder) v. John Bucholz. Charge of failing to destroy rabbits. W. Dalgliesh said defendant had about 280 acres, four miles from Gore, of rough country. He had a few pigs and a few sheep on it but did not cultivate. The ground was badly infested with rabbits, and he saw no signs of work to kill them. Defendant said the had poisoned the ground twice, but wet weather came on and the poison was destroyed. He and his family ate the rabbits and he fed rabbits to his pigs also.-Defendant was fined 10s and costs, £1 8s. "The Mataura Ensign", 19 January 1905.
