Franz was sent down to Greytown (Allanton) along with his countrymen, to work on the Southern Railways. While settling on the Taieri they had their family being: John (1873-1873), Frank (1874), Anthony (1876), Annie (1879), Rosa (1881-1905), Thomas (1883), Maria (1885) & Minnie (1887).

In the 1882 Freeholders Frank is listed as owning 1 acre to the value of £220 in as a labourer residing in Mosgiel.

At a later date the Rogacki family moved to the Polish Settlement at Marshland, Christchurch. Frank Rogatski was naturalised on the 18th of November 1899 residing in Marshland. He died on the 27th of September 1908 and is buried at the Linwood Cemetery, Christchurch.
